WHAT IS EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGY?

Exercise prescribed for your health.

Exercise Physiology uses evidence-based exercise to help people improve their health, physical function and quality of life.

Accredited Exercise Physiologists are university-qualified allied health professionals who specialise in using exercise to support people with injury, chronic health conditions, physical limitations and other individual health needs.

Rather than simply providing a workout, Exercise Physiology considers your health history, current capacity and goals to develop an appropriate and progressive exercise plan.

At Cube, that support takes place within a fully equipped training environment, allowing your programme to progress alongside your strength, confidence and physical capacity.

UNDERSTANDING THE DIFFERENCE

Exercise Physiologist, Physiotherapist or Personal Trainer?

Each plays a different role. Understanding the difference can help you choose the right support for where you are now.

Exercise Physiologist

An allied health professional who uses evidence-based exercise to support rehabilitation, chronic health conditions, physical function, strength and long-term health. Exercise Physiologists are particularly well suited to people who need exercise prescribed around an injury, health condition or individual clinical need.

Physiotherapist

A physiotherapist commonly assesses and treats pain, injury and movement dysfunction, particularly during the earlier stages of injury or rehabilitation. Treatment may include hands-on therapy, education and specific rehabilitation exercises.

Personal Trainer

A Personal Trainer helps generally healthy people improve fitness, strength, performance and body composition through exercise programming and coaching. Personal Training is not an allied health service and does not replace clinical exercise support where this is required.

In many cases, these professionals can complement one another. If you're unsure where to start, Jordan can help determine whether Exercise Physiology is appropriate for your needs.

HOW WE CAN HELP

Professional guidance.
Personal support.

Jordan provides personalised, evidence-based Exercise Physiology to help people improve strength, movement and confidence.

His approach is built around understanding where you are now, what you want to achieve and creating an exercise pathway appropriate for your individual circumstances.

Where appropriate, Jordan can also work alongside your GP and other health professionals to support a coordinated approach to your health and exercise.

WHAT TO EXPECT

A clear pathway forward.

Your Exercise Physiology journey starts with understanding your individual needs and progresses as your capacity, strength and confidence develop.

01

Initial consultation

Jordan will discuss your health history, current concerns, goals and previous exercise experience to understand what you need from Exercise Physiology.

02

Assessment

Your movement, strength, physical capacity and other relevant measures can be assessed to establish an appropriate starting point.

03

Personalised programme

You'll receive an exercise approach tailored to your individual needs, goals and capacity rather than a generic programme.

04

Progress & review

Your programme can be progressed as your strength, confidence and capacity improve, with ongoing support where appropriate.
